They really are great. They keep it exciting without resorting to homerism. When there is a bad call, they point it out and then move on. They discuss important in depth baseball stuff which can still engage normal baseball fans.
The new Sox guy is heads and tails better than Hawk, but you still see the difference between guys like him and Len. The "missed" catcher's interference call was STILL being complained about the next day on the Sox broadcast. Len and JD would have pointed out why they thought it should have been called, why it was a big deal it wasn't, then they would have moved on.
