I'm sure he won't sign a one-year deal. But I'm also certain that this FO would sign him to deal that they felt was good value. If they can get him for what would be reasonable for a back-end starter for 2-3 years, they might explore it. If not, they won't, any of our interests in Iwakuma notwithstanding.
Chances are that the no-hitter raises the price out of our range, but we'd be fools to assume that the front office won't continue to investigate multiple avenues when building a starting staff. Iwakuma (or his ilk) might fit better overall in the plan compared to a Cueto or Price who will demand long, expensive contracts.
