I think that's bullshit. I think you guys are being obtuse and are making arguments to beat up straw men (no pun intended).
I'm not familiar with arguments regarding Sox attendance being hurt by it being harder to get to their ballpark, but I will assume for the sake of argument that those arguments have actually been made. I don't know enough about Chicago transit issues to opine on their veracity.
However, even assuming both that those arguments are made and that those arguments are bullshit, that has virtually nothing to do with the question of which ballpark is a slightly shorter drive for more people unless the argument is made that the reason more people go to Wrigley is that it's a shorter drive time to get to Wrigley. Nobody has said that argument is being made. Whether it's generally easier overall to get to Wrigley is a different question than whether it's a slightly shorter drive for a larger population base to get to one ballpark or the other.
