I guess I don't understand what is so terrible about the trade for the Braves. They got rid of Heyward who in my opinion is just an average ball player. Defensively, he is outstanding, but offensively he has been overhyped since he got to the bigs. The Braves knew they were going to lose him so they traded him for two guys that they control for a long time. Miller has a ERA under 3.50 in 370 innings pitched and for as bad as everyone says he did last year, he was still a 3.74 ERA. His career WHIP is 1.23. The Braves have him for at least 4 more years.
Honestly, I think its a pretty good trade for the Braves. I would gladly take Shelby Miller as our 3rd or 4th SP for 4 cheap years.
