Not so sure about that. OPS+ of 141 and 126 the last couple seasons but a lifetime mark of 97. Maybe he's figured something out? His defense is not on the same level as Martin, but he's 28, so it isn't a bad move for them.

You just quoted 2 seasons in which he was in and out of the lineup due to injuries with 61 and 162 plate appearances, respectively. Not sure that sample size is worth a lot. Granted, I was speaking from memory and his batting stats are far better than I thought... even at a career 97 OPS+. The thing that would concern me about him is that he has 785 plate appearances in 7 major league seasons.
