Quote:I'm kind of with George Carlin on the Football/Baseball thing.Agreed. There's a rhythm and a flow to baseball that, while not always exciting, is something the other sports can't replicate. Time-based sports are frustrating to watch at times because most of the time is wasted and what little action do you have is mostly a series of fits and starts. Football and basketball can be really fun when there is actual drama involved, but too much action in spots can end up like watching a ping-pong game. Too much randomness.
I like that baseball isn't constantly adrenalized and bound by the clock. I like that I can take my attention off the field between pitches. I like that I have time to appreciate the defensive positioning, consider the implications of possible outcomes. The things that many call "boring" make up some of the very best aspects of watching baseball.
