His reaction? "...woah..."
Maybe it's just me, but if some strange big black guy in a trench coat pulled me aside and said, "Nick, theres actually this thing around you that makes everything in the world tick. Forget everything you've ever thought about why things are the way they are, they can all be explained by this new thing," I'd like to think I'd give a different reaction aside from, "...woah...".<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Keanu didn't write the script, though. Why dislike him for the line he had to read?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Because almost all A-list actors have creative input in the production of a movie.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Nobody forced the Wachowskis to hire him, and subsequently keep him on for 2 more films if he wasn't giving them what they wanted. And the idea of actors having creative freedom/input is a bit of a myth aside from the top 1% in the talent pool. Writers are very protective of their scripts unless we're talking comedies or improv type films.

When an A-list actor who is paid a ton of money for a project thinks something needs to be tweaked I'm sure they are at least listened to.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I'm still sticking to my statement. Nobody expects much input from Keanu simply because he's paid well. He hasn't earned that kind of respect as an actor. They knew what they were getting. And again, if the producers were unhappy with his performance, nobody forced them to sign him up for 2 more movies. It isn't all that uncommon to have lead actors changed in sequels.
