<blockquote class="ipsBlockquote">Right-hander C.J. Edwards, the Cubs’ top pitching prospect, left Class AA Tennessee for Chicago on Wednesday to be examined Thursday by team doctors after experiencing discomfort in his shoulder during a scheduled side session.
It’s unclear how serious the injury is. Edwards did not seem to believe it was severe.
Baseball America’s 28th-ranked prospect overall, Edwards earned a victory against Birmingham in his most recent start, pitching a season-high six innings Sunday.
Acquired from the Texas Rangers in the Matt Garza trade last July, Edwards is 1-0 with a 2.61 ERA in four starts with 20 strikeouts (and eight walks) in 20 2/3 innings.

Hopefully it's nothing but this why at some point you have to keep some of the good players you have instead of trying to trade them for prospects.
