Yeah? What percentage of total payroll is Marquis' salary? About 6%? And yet, Hendry has to dump Marquis' salary in order to make the Bradley signing (or the Peavy trade, or whatever). It's clear that every dollar (or every million dollars) counts right now. And regardless of what percentage of the payroll Miles is eating up, he's making about $2M too much.

Miles' line last year:
.317/.355/.398
He's no world beater, but I fail to see how he's not worth $2 or $3 M a year.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
That was his best year, by far -- at age 31. I don't see him repeating that.
Have you seen his career numbers?
.289/.329/.364
He's worth about league minimum. Maybe a little more.

Didn't we used to say a lot of the same things about DeRosa?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Does Aaron Miles look like he could ever hit close to 20 homers? Look at his frame. He couldn't hit 20 homers off a tee from second base.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I bet the combination of Fontenot and Miles will be approach 20 HRs.

I bet the combination of Fontenot and me will approach 20 HRs. Miles might hit 2 or 3 homers, so you're obviously counting on Fontenot to provide the lion's share.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I'd be more than happy with 4-5 HRs from Miles and 12-15 from Fontenot, provided they keep their BAs and OBPs consisent with what they did last year.
