Mission accomplished, I guess. I hope Hendry is happy.

I'm sure he's thrilled. Because the logical idea is that he wanted to drive down the value of a guy he signed to a 90 million dollar contract, so he could trade him for cents on the dollar. Because that would totally reflect well on his tenure.

Since you are good at bringing things around to a calmer, more rational view of Hendry's actions...what insight can you offer into his tendency to throw expensive players under the media bus when they go nuts and may need to be dealt?

I guess if you consider admitting to the human beings on the planet with a functioning brain cell that Bradley and Zambrano might not be the bestest teammates ever "throwing them under the bus", then Hendry is guilty.
I'm sure, had Hendry kept his mouth shut, we'd be deluged with offers for Zambrano right now. Because that's totally the kind of thing that opposing teams only find out about when GM's talk about it in public.

I guess if that's all you've got...
I mean come on...yeah, these guys are who they are (and as has been talked to death we're NOT just talking about Bradley and Z here) and you can't pretend they're model citizens. But when in each instance, the GM talks to the media and paints the situation in the worst possible light...the message is gee, it's worse than anyone could have imagined from all the press on what an asshole this payer was...it's so bad that the guy that has to go out and sell him can't stop himself from blasting him in the press.
And make no mistake...I really do think it's that Hendry can't help himself. I'm sure in his mind, it's a preemptive strike in defense of his organization but it's still really stupid...it can't possibly do any *good* after after all.
