Ever heard of this? I think he pulled it out of his ass. Maybe this went on during a record chase but even then, the authentic balls were marked. The only reason to do it is to avoid the wrath of fellow fans pissed at not throwing them back.

I don't spend a lot of time imagining things that if true, lack a point. And till today, no one called it to my attention. There's still no point. What, to look like you're throwing it back and yet, get to keep it? Weak sauce.
