*Cough* (Cy Young) *cough*.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest that Lou was talking about since Stone retired as a player.
And if you wanna compare careers, Piniella has done much much more as a player and beyond. Yes Stone won a Cy Young, but the rest of his career was mediocre at best.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I'm just saying.
Piniella's comments portray Stone as just one more beat writer that never had cleats to hang up. Stone's opinions on how the game should be played, right or wrong, aren't theoretical.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I didn't see it that way at all. I think Lou was saying that if Stone is so fucking smart, why aren't teams beating down his door to hire him. It may be a valid question.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I agree. If he's half the genius he thinks he is he'd have offers coming out of his ass. He really irks me, I have absolutely no problem if he was just trying to offer his opinion...but I think it's pretty clear he has a certain amount of venom in his words on the Cubs. Its obvious he's still got a bone to pick. It's interesting how the team he currently works for is about as garbage as the Cubs are, yet you don't get any of the smarmy look at these idiot commentaries on their management and decisions. If you want to give your opinion, fine. But don't insult people's intelligence by pretending to be an unbiased observer. THAT, is why I hate Steve Stone. Ugh the White Sox just HAD to hire him... go away already.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Pretty much perfect.
Stone is still smart. He is also comically biased. If he says 10 bad things about the Cubs, I'm tired of trying to figure out which 5 are valid, and which 5 comes from him being pissed at the organization.

I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.
