Thing is...you never tell us which decisions or lineups are bad. You just pass along these global critiques, which are basically just form without substance.

The best way to be seen as an expert is to be a critic...

Theriot as a full time player, bad.
Zambrano to the bullpen, bad.
Theriot batting 1st or 2nd, bad.
Using Grabow in pressure situations, bad.
Double switching for no apparent reason, bad.
Batting Castro 8th, bad.
Not having a clue about players trends, bad.
Relying on lefty/righty way too much, bad.
Inability to form a sentence, bad.

Now, I dare you to make a post that's baseball related and not geared toward telling other people what to do. Just one snippet of baseball related material from you would be a welcome change. Not being a total hypocrite would help too.

That will never ever ever happen. It's just not possible.

Lou should have been kicked out tonight after Quintero sat on Castro. The old Lou would have ripped out the base and smashed it in that ump's face. He's cashed it in, he needs to go.

Great observation. And good to see you again.
I'm 100% fine with this. I'm just glad there's an actual plan in place that isn't, "Let's load up on retreads and hope we get lucky." I'm a little tired of that plan.

What was the deal with that play? I had the game on mute because I was doing some things, and I was watching that play, and was sort of shocked that Castro wasn't awarded home on the play. What were Len and Bob saying?

He wasn't awarded home because he hadn't touched third yet. It's the umps judgment if he would have scored and since Castro couldn't move, it was doubtful he would score.

I also think Lou was more worried about the fact that Castro might have broken his collarbone than he was with the umps non-call.

Right, but he hadn't touched third because he was being sat on...I don't see how he wouldn't have scored there.

but when he wasn't being sat on, he still couldn't move. He was in too much pain.

Thanks, Lance. I have been reading the board for most of the season but can't really get into this team so I haven't been posting. I just happened to catch the play in between periods of the hawks game.

Why are managers turning into gigantic pussies after coaching the Cubs for a year or two? Where's the fire, assholes?

Batting Theriot-Lee-Ramirez 2-3-4 at this stage in the season is really indefensible. I'm sorry, but it is.

Yeah the Theriot benching sure didn't last long. Nothing else Lou has tried lasted long either, so I'm not too surprised.

I really really hate Theriot now, not only because he sucks but he just comes off like an arrogant bitch, both in the way he plays and especially in interviews. He stills acts like he thinks he is a superstar. I really hope we trade or non-tender his shitty ass by next season. You can't have a guy who has no power, never walks and is a uber-dumbass in how he plays the game, not gonna work.

I'm not sure what we can do about Ramirez, he holds all the advantages in his contract, player option for next year and the right to void a team option for 2012 if he waives his buyout price. He is literally 100% worthless right now and we are gonna be paying him huge money for 3 fucking seasons.

I wish Ramirez was merely worthless - he's actually affirmatively harmful right now.

I thought Dusty Baker was a stubborn fool but these lineups Lou keep trotting out there are making me sick. Soriano and Byrd need to be your 3-4 hitters until further notice.

I really do understand your point, Ace...and, I'm pretty close to feeling Fella's sentiments about Theriot, as well.

Here's the thing...to me, managing anything (especially a baseball team) is something of a high wire act. You're handed a certain foundation, and you have to assume the quality of its elements.

In this case...do we assume that Aramis is a dangerous clutch-hitter, or has simply turned into a waste product? Has he earned the right to play out a terrible slump, or does he sit immediately? If you're going to sit him, when do you know to start him again? I think certain types of players have earned the right to "play through"...if only because getting them jump-started is critical to the team's success.

I don't have the answer to my next thought/question...is it easier or harder for a clean-up hitter to get restarted in the eight-hole, than his normal spot? I don't know if I overthink these things...but, I am for allowing our best players to hang in there and find it.

Same for Lee...cornerstone players get more latitude, in my opinion.

As for Theriot...I do agree. I don't know why Castro isn't in the two. The only thing I can think of...the two-hole has always required strong situational hitters, with the ability to protect the runner, get on base, etc. Is it possible that they haven't seen this kind of ability/insight from Castro, as yet?

On some level...we simply have to hope that each player plays up to his ability. Isn't that really the problem, right now? Our players simply aren't getting it done. Is this the manager's fault? He doesn't take their AB's. He's tried jump-starting the team with different approaches...he's not remained dormant.

We all absolutely want this team to win...but, as great the urgency, it doesn't absolve the need for patience.
