5/28 Inbreeders @ Cubs

I swear the Cubs must bat under .100 in the history of the franchise when the Wrigley crowd gets on their feet. Stop doing that.

I'm so thankful that our players do not have douchey pornstaches, dirty long hair matted with taint oil, or Johnny Appleseed beards straight from the 1850s.
I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

That's not a strike. Lou 5 years kicks dirt at the umpire and gets tossed over that one. Now, he picks his ass.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Rosenthal... "Sources: Dempster deferring $3M of $12.5M salary for 2010 at little or no interest to help #Cubs with payroll flexibility. #MLB"

"Of the $3M deferred, $1M will be paid by Feb. 2011, $1M by Feb. 2012, $1M by Feb. 2013. Rest of contract stays the same. #Cubs #MLB"<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Oh, and speaking of Rosenthal, this was before the game:
<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->"Fox-TV reporter Ken Rosenthal, who wrote a May 17 column on FoxSports.com suggesting that Lou Piniella should be fired if the Cubs don't turn things around, had a brief conversation with the Cubs' manager before Friday's game.

Piniella told Rosenthal they did not need to talk, and that was the end of it.

Beforehand, Piniella was asked if he'd seen Rosenthal.

"No, I haven't seen my little buddy," he replied.

Piniella was asked if he was upset by Rosenthal's opinion.

"Look, when a person doesn't see your team play ..." he said. "I think he should at least see the team play before you start making comments. Outside of that, I really don't care. He has no bearing at all on whether I have a job here or not."

Rosenthal and Piniella worked together when Piniella was an analyst for Fox during the 2006 season.

Asked if they were friends, Piniella replied: "Are we friends? I mean, am I looking forward to having dinner with him tonight? Absolutely not. Outside of that, are we friends? We both do things that are in the public eye. The amazing part about it is when you manage a baseball team, you taketh more than you giveth.

"That's the way it is, and that's the way it's always been. And when the team is not playing well, for whatever reason, it's the manager that takes the brunt of it, whether it's justified or unjustifiied."

Rosenthal said he stands by his column, pointing out that the Cubs are "playing better," and that he only wrote Piniella should be fired if they didn't turn things around.

"End of story," he said."

I liked how Lou called that midget his "little buddy".<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Jesus Christ - this is a team that needs present day payroll flexibility like Wimpy needs a hamburger laced with heroin.
