I have Crazy Heart at home but haven't watched it yet so I guess I will have to tonight. When Bridges was giving his speech I just kept waiting for him to say " The Dude abides man" or "Hey man, nice marmot".<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Me too, that speech was great.

I thought he came off as a douche in his speech.

Really, how so?

I'm wondering that myself. I love Bridges, and he seems like one of the coolest and most down to earth dudes in Hollywood, especially for a lifer.

Interesting. I think you're the first person I know that didn't like it.

Of course you're entitled to your opinion, but I'd be curious to hear why you felt underwhelmed. Was it built up too much? Were your expectations really high? Did some part of the film not work for you?

I thought the little "ha ha" and "whooos" were a little awkward and a little smuggy. I just re-watched the speech, and I like what he says this time around, however. It was almost like he was in character, I just could have done with out the yelping. .

Pretty much. I went into it expecting a lot from it, but when it ended it was kind of blah, it didn't make me think or stick with me. I enjoyed the movie, but it seemed to move really quick and just kind of ended for me.

Finally watched The Hurt Locker a couple of nights ago. I thought it was good, but nothing special. Guess I was expecting greatness since it won best picture.
