There were a TON of great ABs today. Wells had one, Soto with a couple. Fontenot had really nice atbats and Colvin drawing the walk was huge.
I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

And there couldn't have been a better three guys to strike out than those three. Douche city, take a seat.

Whatever Soriano's future, the booing can only exacerbate the situation and Lou and Hendry don't need the fans pointing out the frustration. They already know. They'll do whatever they're gonna do. As long as Soriano plays in Chicago, getting on his back only hurts the team day to day. His defense is totally for shit though.

I know he cares and that he is trying to perform. That's why I don't condone the booing. That said, he needs to be a platoon player at this point, for his defense alone and for the sake of salvaging whatever we are going to get out of him over the next 5 seasons. If the booing continues, it will end badly for everyone.

I really don't understand the point of booing. Yes, it tells the player that the fans don't think he's getting the job done. However, it can't possibly help in anyway. The guy's never done or said a negative thing for the Cubs. He's not worth his contract, but that's not entirely his fault.
I got nothin'.

Exactly. <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> Plus it's our home field. Do we really want any of our players to look forward to going on the road to get away from the boos?
I'm 100% fine with this. I'm just glad there's an actual plan in place that isn't, "Let's load up on retreads and hope we get lucky." I'm a little tired of that plan.

Wow. Hey, if Soriano wants the booing to stop then he needs to catch a fucking flyball. It's his fault people boo. Fuck him and his fragile emotions. Grow a goddamn sack and earn your fucking money and people will stop booing him. Jesus Christ, I'm really shocked at these reactions. Fuck Soriano. I don't feel the least bit bad for him.

Great first game of the year to go to...but fuck I forgot how many retards inhabit the bleachers. This is why I hate sitting there.

I guess I just don't see the gain to booing. Every athlete is keenly aware when they screw up. Shit, 6 year olds know when they screw up or under perform. So to boo the guy, at his home field, seems incredibly counter productive.

If it were just him though, that would be one thing. They booed a rookie in Caridad at the freaking player introductions, just because he had one bad game, in a big situation he's never been in. I'm sure that did wonders for his confidence.

If you can explain how booing will help the situation, then I'm all for it.
All it does is make the person booing look like a douche. So, in that sense, I guess it's somewhat helpful.

I personally am not a booer, but I'm with Veryzer...I don't have a problem when others do it.
Oh and for the record I think we can move on from worrying about Colvin being patient, granted its a small sample size, he's been incredibly patient every at bat I've seen.

I had to turn it off in the bottom of the 7th as I had a friend over so I still haven't seen a win this year |
