xm radio listeners
#1
watched the cubbies on wgn all during my childhood. grew up with ryno as my idol. i'm 34 now & had the direct tv package for about 5 years but had to trim some finances & that was one thing to go. this season will be season #2 having xm radio. i actually love just list. to the radio call & works out well if i am at work in my police car ( i work 6am to 6pm) & there is an early afternoon game. becomes somewhat troublesome at night having 2 children running around the house & this time makes tv easier.
who all here enjoy the games on xm? i hope they have both team's radio calls for each game. last year, they only had the home team's feed. i did not enjoy having to hear the other teams' announcers when the cubs were not in wrigley

Welcome aboard, JB.

I do not have XM but have thought long and hard about getting it, since I've been dispatched to Columbus and have to settle for when the sun goes down and I can get WGN blasting through the ionosphere.

Welcome to the board, JB!

Last year I bought the MLB app for my iPhone, which I think is similar to what XM has. It has the home and away broadcasts for every game, every day. Pretty awesome. That way I could listen to the game on the train during my commute home...which probably got better reception than one of these bad boys:

An AM 720 earbud thingy. That was actually a pretty sweet giveaway from Burger King back in the 80s...

Welcome to our little world, JB. Explore the space.

And I have one of those Cubs Ear Radios from BK. Bought it on eBay a few years ago. Still in the original package.

well, i feel its total BS that xm doesn't give you option to listen to home OR away feed. heard its blamed on too much bandwith to have both feeds for every game, 162 game season. i don't think it has changed for upcming season but would be a nice surprise if i get santo on every cubs game instead of having to hear the other teams' tools when the cubs are away from wrigley

I'd rather listen to just about anyone instead of Santo. Love Pat, could do without Uncle Ron.

I have had XM since it came out pretty much. I don't think we are ever going to get both broadcasts to be honest. That's why I bought the MLB At Bat app for my iPhone. Then I can always get the Cubs broadcast because I hate listening to other teams announcers.

Does anybody have the Droid? I'm looking for some kind of MLB app but can't find one yet.

They tested it during the World Series last year, so I bet it will be available for the season.
No confirmation yet.

Speaking of Uncle Ron, the best part about XM is the Ron and Fez show, 1100 EST on the Virus.

I've listned since they were a local show in DC in 2000.

It's basically just Ron Bennington's hi-larity. It doesn't really fit a format, so it's hard to describe. I really recommend it.

Same here. That app rules.

And welcome, JB!

Just to establish a baseline, would people that find Ron Bennington funny also tend to find the Bob and Tom Show funny, in your estimation?
