Now we have to figure out the rules for next year so an 8th place team never wins the super bowl again. We also should probably do it while things are still fresh in our heads.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
You are such a baby.
If Angelo had picked McClellin, I would have been expecting to hear by training camp that kid has stage 4 cancer, is actually 5'2" 142 lbs, is a chick who played in a 7 - 0 defensive scheme who only rotated in on downs which were 3 and 34 yds + so is not expecting to play a down in the NFL until the sex change is complete and she puts on another 100 lbs. + but this is Emery's first pick so he'll get a pass with a bit of questioning. - 1060Ivy

If we did 3 division I guess we could have a balance schedule.
Each team plays intradivision teams twice (6)
Each team plays interdivision teams once (8)
---- Which make 14 games. A 6 team playoff would stretch in to week 17.
Are there other benefits to setting up divisions?
Another option would be to set up 4 three team divisions.
Each team plays intradivision teams twice (4)
Each team plays interdivision teams once (9)
---- Which make 13 games. A 6 team playoff would stretch in to week 16.

my 12 team league does it like this. of course that goes against what a bunch of people have said about doing the championship game in week 17, but it works really well for us.

+1
I'll get the ball rolling. Lets get some feedback.
Proposal #1: 6 team playoff with the top 2 teams getting a bye.
Proposal #2: Payout as follows: 20% to top overall points through playoffs; 50% to Playoff Winner; 20% to Playoff Runner-Up; 10% to Playoff 3rd Place
Proposal #3: Increase entry fee to $40
Proposal #4: Add Special Teams to the Defense position.
Proposal #5: Add two additional teams.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Yes to 1, 3, 4. No to 2. Indifferent to 5. Indifferent to divisions if we expand to 12.
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.

I would be interested in joining the league if available.

As of now, you and Ace are the first two to express interest. I don't think it will be a problem.

Actually it was Ace and then Bz expressing interest.

We could do either. If we did the first, we just eliminate one game.
I'm in the Super Bowl in one of my leagues. It has a week 17 super bowl. I would not have made the playoffs if we didn't have a 14 week schedule. And I STILL think a week 17 super bowl is a terrible idea. I made the playoffs in large part because of Aaron Rodgers. He probably isn't going to play much this weekend. I am desperately searching for average guys on shitty teams who will play this weekend. It's no way to determine a champion.

Just curious, what's the point of doing divisions if you don't end up with a balanced schedule?

It changes the competition. You might suck, but if your division sucks you can still make the playoffs, just like the NFL. You might be really good, but if your division is good, you might not make the playoffs, just like the NFL.

I'm not going to be able to do the football league this year. If this league wants to continue, someone needs to volunteer to commish. Just let me know who wants to be comissioner and I'll set up the league on Yahoo and make the change.

We should get an idea of how many are coming back, and how many others are interested in joining.
coldneck, are you out altogether, or just out as commish?

I'm out altogether. Last year I was in 6 leagues and it was just too much to pay attention to. I'm trying to cut down to 2 or 3 at the most.
