Bradley
Being stuck with Bradley next year is not the absolute worst of the scenarios.

It's the best situation of anything mentioned, but it's not going to happen. I've already watched Lou say today on 2 shows that they're absolutely trying to deal him and hopefully it gets done by the end of the meetings.

I just can't imagine the fans accepting him back. I think it could turn very ugly. I think a lot of us here could accept him back but sorry to say we are not the majority when it comes to Cubs fans.

If Bradley made a heartfelt public apology, I'm pretty sure most fans would forgive him.

I don't see Bradley doing that, though. I'm pretty sure he wants out just as badly as Hendry/Lou want him out.

Some more winter meeting stuff that you may have seen on my Cubs Twitter... not sure if it's been posted but whatev:

"We're in a situation where anything that we add to our outfield, we've got to get defense" -Lou. So that means no Pat Burrell, as I expected. If we get him, we'll swing him elsewhere.

Lou on lefty/righty balance in the lineup: "I don't think it matters anymore. Just keep people healthy on the field, and let's get people that can produce and let it go at that."

Iowa GM on Ryno(hint hint): “We’re excited about being his next step toward becoming a big-league manager.”

Wittenmyer said: "Tigers said to be shopping Granderson after all. Cubs told Det if serious Cubs all in." Gammons then said the Tigers want Castro and 2 other prospects, Cubs say no.

Zambrano's lost 15 pounds, staying in Chicago to work out.

Soriano will bat 6th in 2010.

Soto is back in shape and ready to go for 2010.

Marmol will start the season as the Cubs closer, but Lou wants an experienced RH reliever. That would support the Heath Bell to Cubs talk of today.

Lilly resting 2 weeks to a month.

Lou says we need a CF and a bat that can drive in runs. He likes Cameron.

Soriano batting 6th is stupid. He needs protection, he needs to see fastballs. Though now that I think about it, the only protection the Cubs could provide him would be Lee and Ramirez, and they're locked in the 3 and 4 spots.

Please make it happen, God, so we can move on from this sideshow.

I'm going to guess the Yankees made sure to acquire Granderson so they finally got the piece to be able pry Bradley away from us.

QUOTE 5:34pm: Another AL team - not the Angels or Mariners - is involved in the Bradley talks, according to MLB.com's Carrie Muskat.

So, we now know it is either the Angels or Mariners.

GMJ or Silva pick your poison.

EDIT: QUOTE 5:37pm: A high-level Mariners official shot down the Cubs-Mariners rumor, according to Wittenmyer.

Thank God.

Better not be Silva

Ok, so per Wittenmyer (and adding up what we know), it looks like it's an AL team, not the Rangers, Rays, Mariners, or Angels, and the player coming back is a big ugly contract, and it's a player that the Cubs don't actually want to keep.

Any thoughts? I'm coming up blank.
