Bradley
I'd be pretty surprised if there isn't a team out there at least willing to pay 5 mil a year for Bradley. If not I assume we will do a bad contract swap for a Rowand or Burrell.

The way Lou and Hendry are talking there is literally a 0% chance he is back though so not worth arguing over.

According to Lou today, it appears Bradley's days as a Cub are over.

I even like the bits in the media which appear to be teasing out a market for Bradley. Did someone finally tell the Cubs that bashing a player before trading him doesn't help his trade value?

a friend just called and said 670 was reporting multiple sources were saying that they were definitely doing the rowand thing. i didn't hear it though
Life is a bitch, but she's totally doable.

I'm sure its probably just speculation. There is no point in them trying to do a waiver wire, crazy salary deal now. If it happens it will be in a couple months.

Are the Cubs attempting to get Rowand in time for a playoff run?

Is the hot stove rumor mill already in full force? I call bullshit on 670's part.

There's absolutely no reason to jump at the deal so quickly unless the Giants for some reason are offering to pay a decent amount of Rowand's contract.

Aaron Rowand poops his pants when he bats.

Quite so. The idea that we'll eat at least $15M is nutso.

Unless we trade him without taking on another bad contract.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Why would we trade him to someone only willing to pick up $3M per year?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Because the number of teams looking to trade for a lunatic and pay him much money may be limited?

We shall see. I'd live with it...I just don't think we'll have to.

If we have to pick up all but $6 million, I will flip out. Get him in to counseling/anger management and roll the dice on the next two years, if that is all the salary we are able to get out of paying.

This should really be the next quote of the week.

If Rowand is a good defensive CFer, I would be fine with a trade, with a reasonable offensive bounce back. There is also a chance that he could have another very good offensive season.
I like you guys a lot.

Scarey posted something on Rowand in the comments on BN that scared the crap out of me on him.

And there's virtually no way the two teams have agreed to some kind of deal already.

I didn't think they're allowed to make trades at this point of the season. I pretty sure there was a waiver trade deadline

They can, but none of the players involved can be on playoff rosters. And that won't exactly be a problem in this case. And it still has to be a waiver deal.
The thing you need to remember is that all Cardinals fans and all White Sox fans are very bad people. It's a fact that has been scientifically proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Being a Cubs fan is the only path to rightousness and piousness. Cardinal and White Sox fans exist to be the dark, diabolical forces that oppose us. They are the yin to our yang, the Joker to our Batman, the demon to our angel, the insurgence to our freedom, the oil to our water, the club to our baby seal. Their happiness occurs only in direct conflict with everything that is pure and good in this world.
