Unbelievable. So, will we be in the market for an OF yet again this offseason, or do we play Fox full time?

Maybe we can snag Holliday.

Not sure where the money would come from, but hey -- we can dream, right?

2010 is going to suck just as hard as 2009.

Fox can't even get playing time over Bobby Scales in a lost season. I have a hard time believing he'll get a full time job as an outfielder here next year.

Yup, the quickest way to get the most value for a player that needs to be traded in the offseason is to suspend him.

Yeah, Bradley is an ass.

He was an ass before he got to the Cubs. He was an ass when he showed up to play his first game. He was an ass when he decided to dispute his first MLB suspension this season to prove a point rather than help his team. He was an ass for talking and not talking to the media. The point, Bradley is an ass.

When a GM is stuck with an underperforming ass on your team with 2 years left on his contract and provided the following options: A) talk him up around the league, place in positions that he is most likely to succeed, provide the ass plenty of days off and limit the chances the ass speaks to the press - like, have him hit in the No. 2 hole before your team's best hitter in no stress games; or denigrate the ass in the press and then suspend him.

With other teams, option A is the best route. Unfortunately, this is the Cubs. It appeared the Cubs attempted option A but Bradley is a bigger ass than Hendry thought.

Now maybe Hendry is attempting to prove his worth to the new owners. If he can fix this mistake, it will be his best accomplishment since getting rid of another underperforming ass that had time left on his contract who wore out his welcome in Chicago - Todd Hundley.

Unfortunately, my guess is that Hendry is following more of the Sammy Sosa script rather than the Hundley script.

I'm guessing that in the offseason we'll be seeing articles comparing the 28 year old AA prospect that we receive for Bradley and the $21 MM to the Rangers, Rays or Nationals as a combination of Albert Pujols, Hanley Ramirez, CC Sabathia, Felix Hernandez and Joe Mauer.

$10 says after a long, drawn-out process of trying to trade him, the Cubs decide to try and make it work.

and i have $10 that says after a long drawn-out process of trying to get something in return for him, they end up giving him away for next to nothing. there isn't a chance in hell that he's coming back. none whatsoever.

and hendry is doing the right thing. you can criticize him for signing bradley in the first place, but not for suspending him. bradley is a cancer, and worse, he's a cancer that can't play. he absolutely has to go. what bradley said this weekend is so beyond his usual crybaby bullshit, that it's imperitive that he be traded. the bridge has been burned.

if i'm hendry, i spend the first few months of the offseason trying to get anything in return for him and if it doesn't work, then i call KC and tell them he's theirs for free. i don't trade him to a NL team and i don't trade him to a contender, unless i'm positive i'm going get some value for him.

and why hasn't scarey weighed in on this?

Suddenly that little germ of info from a couple days back about the thing in Bradley's contract about ending the season on the DL and the $2M buyout for year three is not news. I still wish I knew more about that because whatever else happens for 2010, it would seem that if such a clause exists for 2011, triggering it would have made a ton of sense. Was it a mirage?

I started doing a BN write-up on this, and the rub is - he's got to still be on the DL by April 15 next year with the same injury that knocked him out this year for the 2011 buyout to pop up.
