I would assume yes because we've generally had good pitching...but who the fuck really knows
If Angelo had picked McClellin, I would have been expecting to hear by training camp that kid has stage 4 cancer, is actually 5'2" 142 lbs, is a chick who played in a 7 - 0 defensive scheme who only rotated in on downs which were 3 and 34 yds + so is not expecting to play a down in the NFL until the sex change is complete and she puts on another 100 lbs. + but this is Emery's first pick so he'll get a pass with a bit of questioning. - 1060Ivy

Even with pitching under Leo Mazzone, didn't Greg Maddux still say Rothschild was the best pitching coach he ever had?

We lead the league in strikeouts every year, and we've continued to have youngsters have success under him, from Zambrano and Prior, to Wells and Marshall. He handles the staff well, and he isn't the problem. He did wonders turning Lilly from a good pitcher to an absolute stud, and for every guy that he's lost (Marmol) there's more guys he's had perform really well and created success for (Dempster, Guzman, etc.).
I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

Yeah, Marmol is why I ask. I know Marmol doesn't want to tee up meatballs but he'd rather walk a shitty hitter trying to strike him out than just let the guy put it in play. I've wanted to see the grounds crew hold him down while Larry throws him a beating, at times.

I'd like to hear Butcher's opinion on this. Then I would like to see BZ's response to Butcher's opinion. Something tells me it would be highly entertaining.

I think any position coach who survives a regime change has to be considered good.

He might be a good pitching coach in the way that he helps develop young arms, but for whatever reason, our staffs have always suffered from poor conditioning. Not sure if that is on the Manager, Trainers, Pitching coach, or whomever, but it is a problem.

Consequently, does anyone here think tonight's pitcher will be making fun of us in between pitches?

So there's that.
