Yeah, but even we had a Cliff Lee, we'd just lose his games 1-0. Or 2-1 when the bullpen blows it.

Don't you think the deficienies of the bullpen can be attributed(atleast partially) to absolutely no stability in the rotation though also? I do, especially the middle and long relief roles.
