Alf can be infuriating at times, <b>but we're not in first without him</b>. Without Miles, well...he has made absolutely no impact whatsoever.

Now this I disagree with. Put Fox in LF full time and we have as many, if not a few more wins. Fox cannot be any worse in the field or on the basepaths and is a much better hitter. Soriano blows. It's about time everyone recognizes it and quits making excuses for him.

This is both untrue and unfair. On May 17th, Soriano had a .932 OPS. His OPS was over 1.000 for most of April. Lee sucked at the time, as did Bradley. He was basically carrying us until virtually the entire team went into the shitter, right around mothers day. He has enormous problems, but there are times, sometime LONG times, where he carries the team.

Yes there are definitely times when he is an amazing hitter. But they are far and few between. I'd much rather have a consistent player than have one who is on fire for 3 weeks and awful for 3 months. Plus he's half retarded and plays the game with absolutely no passion, hustle or effort.

Okay, it is unfair that I think Soriano is a piece of shit. I can live with that. He is just the type of baseball player that I loathe. No hustle or passion, nothing. I can only imagine how much I'll hate in 4 or 5 years.

Relax. I was angrier in the game we won 2 nights ago. I'd rather see Tim Lincecum with this team than Doug Davis. They just don't matchup well against these low 80s types usually. And to give Lehr credit, he threw strikes. That was his biggest problem coming in and he continuously pumped first pitch strikes. I just can't get too upset about winning a series on the road, I don't care who it's against.

Remember when everybody was giving the "Oh it's the Nationals who cares about a sweep" shit? They haven't lost a series since then and are about to win their 4th in a row tonight, 2nd in a row against the Marlins. The Cardinals just crushed Johan and got shutout by Nelson Figueroa(who gave up 10 hits in 1 2/3 to Arizona 2 days ago) and company today. It's baseball, these things happen. Just shake it off, get a needed day of rest tomorrow, and go get em Friday in Colorado.

People also seem to forget we're basically playing with 7 position players in the lineup. If Soto is what he was before getting hurt, we're getting a huge boost to the offense.

I don't think there's anybody that disagrees with that, I feel the same way. But... at the end of the day it comes down to talent, and as frustrating as he is, he plays a huge part in us winning games over a season.

We've owned Ubaldo at least, who we face Friday. He's 0-3 with a 7.27 ERA against us in 4 starts. He allowed 3 runs and 6 walks in 3.2 innings against us at Wrigley this year. I even remember us kicking his ass in spring training.

2 years ago at Coors we got 9 hits and 9 runs(5 earned) in 2 innings against him. He's the kind of guy we do well against since he throws straight heat and has bad control. I'm not going to say we do well against him this time because it's hard to really tell what this team is going to bring each day, but it looks promising on paper.

And we don't have to face their ace, Aaron Cook.
