Nothing to it. Some d-bag hacked into the WEEI reporter's twitter account and made it up.

According to Sportscenter, the Red Sox made an offer to the Jays around Buchholz, but Gammons shot it down.

This is what I expected all along. It requires too much to get him, as it should. Teams are too into their special little prospects. Halladay would drastically change the playoff chances of a team like the Phillies, but they're too scared.
<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->According to Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports, Blue Jays GM J.P. Ricciardi has a "gut" feeling Roy Halladay will not be traded.
The Blue Jays are not prepared to lower their asking price. If that remains their philosophy through the July 31 deadline, it's doubtful Halladay is dealt. "It doesn’t matter if it’s today or tomorrow or Friday or next week," Ricciardi said. "Nothing is close. Nothing is happening."<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

DeRosa to the Cards and now Cedeno to the Pirates?
Damnit!

And I guess the Pitrates view Clement as a 1B because he isnt a good catcher.

He hasn't exactly proven to be a good hitter at the ML level either.

Joel Sherman said on Twitter that he's been told the Giants are "definitely" getting Freddy Sanchez. He also says the Dodgers are apparently really after Sherrill now after missing out on Cliff Lee.

Word is the Pirates have rejected the Giants offer and are trying to sign Sanchez to an extension still. Sanchez asked for 3 years, 20 million according to Heyman.

That does not seem like a bad contract at all. Less than 7 million a year for him seems like a good deal for both sides.

I don't think it's a bad deal for him, but I don't know if it would be wise for the Pirates to give him that much money. They're trading everybody, trying to get younger and save money. He'll be 32 in December and I just don't know if giving a solid, not great baseball player that much money is the right decision for that franchise with what they're trying to do. I wouldn't say it's a bad deal at all though and he's deserving of it, sure. He's really underrated defensively at 2nd.

Sanchez traded to the Giants for Tim Alderson.
Alderson is a 20-year-old 6'6", 217 pound right-hander that is 20-6 with a 3.07 career ERA in the minors. He's 6-1 with a 3.47 ERA this year at Double-A. #4 ranked Giants prospect by BA, #2 last year. He's ranked #45 overall by BA... that's higher than Josh Vitters.
