I heard an interesting retort from a Cubs fan sick of all the bragging: "18 guys have thrown perfect games, just 2 have struck out 20"
The thing you need to remember is that all Cardinals fans and all White Sox fans are very bad people. It's a fact that has been scientifically proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Being a Cubs fan is the only path to rightousness and piousness. Cardinal and White Sox fans exist to be the dark, diabolical forces that oppose us. They are the yin to our yang, the Joker to our Batman, the demon to our angel, the insurgence to our freedom, the oil to our water, the club to our baby seal. Their happiness occurs only in direct conflict with everything that is pure and good in this world.

Isn't it 3? Clemens, Johnson, and Wood?

Oops yeah, I just took his quote verbatim, and I guess we both forgot about Johnson.

I'm just trying to bounce around and catch up with all of this (I took the girls to the museum of science and industry yesterday).
Fuck Buerhle. He's nice to the media so they eat his shit and call it caviar. He's not "classy", he is a bomb throwing douchebag. "Classy" guys don't mock other fan bases, don't accuse other teams of cheating, don't mock other teams. He is anti-Class. But hey, he gets along with AJ, so let's throw him a party.
Now I have to listen to fuckwits explaining on the radio how Buerhle belongs in the Hall of Fame. Because the Hall is short on 16 game winners who've been in the top 5 Cy Young voting ONCE in their career.
All of this fails to explain how excruciating it is to have to see this kind of history while listening to the histrionics of that dumbfuck Hawk Harrelson. Since he treats pretty much every White Sox win like it's game 7 of the World Series, every White Sox home run like it's Bobby Thompsons shot heard round the world, every well pitched game like it's Johnny Vandermeer throwing his second no hitter, there is almost no place to go when something like this happens. So he gets to the point where he almost can't speak. But he still manages to, which knocks the annoyance factor up to 11.

I love you, BT.

Yeah, the Kid K game is still the best pitched game I've ever seen. Even a lot of the radio people were admitting this yesterday. And it should have been a no hitter to boot.

If fucking DeWayne doesn't make the catch of the fucking century, then nobody is even talking about this game today.

Yeah, a perfect game is more of a team performance.
Wood was a one man show that day.

That's what sucks. With a better third baseman, Wood's game goes down as possibly the best pitched game in history. I still think it is, but everybody would have to admit it.

Ron Santo just called Buehrle a class act on the Cubs pregame show.

I love Ron Santo, but he isn't exactly a smart man. He's just repeating whatever he's heard in the last 24 hours.

If Orie takes his thumb out of his ass, it's a PERFECT GAME with 20 strikeouts.

I was listening on the drive home. I cant remember which was which but one station said the wood game was better and another said something to the degree of ill take a perfect game over a 20 k game. I almost drove off the road.
Also randy johnson did k 20 guys but he did it in 11 innings of something like that.

Johnson did it in an 11 inning game, but he struck out 20 in the 9 innings he pitched.
