That hand was hurting him, particularly a finger it appeared. He was grimacing in the dugout as Mark O'Neill looked at it. Hate Soriano all you want right now, but we -need- him down the stretch. We need him to have a couple of his patented hot streaks. Any sort of setback like this while he's struggling worse than ever before in his career on top of that would be a very bad thing.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Looks like he jammed a finger, not what you want to see, but it doesn't seem too awful.
Meanwhile, Harden looks great.

I wish we could see this Harden more. I miss him. Give him 10 days off in between starts if that's what he needs. I want the sex Harden instead of the efficient, 90 mph douche version that has a 5+ ERA. Let it all go, take some extra time off in between starts.

Yeah, particularly if the Cubs do make the playoffs, I'd sit Harden for sure for a week or more before he pitches. But something tells me the Cubs will never be in a position to sit him out of choice, nor will they figure out the pattern. But here's hoping.

Lee is just destroying the ball all over the place. Maybe the hardest ball he hit tonight was caught at the shoe strings by Willingham in right. Then he doubles to right, now homers to right-center. In that last at bat, he also turned on a fastball and smoked it foul down the left field line. He has no significant holes right now. It's quickest bat he's had in a few years. They try to go inside like Kerry Wood did, he turns on it for a bomb. They try to go outside, he drives the ball with authority to right as he's done 3 times tonight.

I love seeing players that are in a groove and can get around on inside pitches still hitting the ball hard the opposite way. Lee looks great right now. I just pray his neck stays healthy.

Wow, Dunn has zero chance against Harden, on the changeup at least. He missed those by 3 feet.

Nice finish to the inning. I knew when Nyjer Morgan got on that they were probably going to score at least one, but good to see that was all.

Wonder if Lannan will go 1 more. He's gone over 100 6 times, highest was 109. 97 pitches now. With all of the rest and how bad their pen is, I'd think he'll try to go 1 more inning.

This is where not having another backup catcher blows. We have to use Hoffpauir here against the lefty instead of Fox.

But I guess Leftys are hitting better against Lannan, according to Bob anyway?
