Yeah, his command is terrible. Not really walking a lot of guys, but he's missing pretty badly and leaving the ball up too much.

Have we officially turned Harden into a Cub? As in, he was very good prior to becoming a Cub, now he sucks.
I got nothin'.

He kinda sucked toward the end of 2008 as well.

I've never thought much of him. He's just a 2 pitch pitcher and he never seems to make do when his stuff isn't good.

FUCK YEAH DLEE!!!
The thing you need to remember is that all Cardinals fans and all White Sox fans are very bad people. It's a fact that has been scientifically proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Being a Cubs fan is the only path to rightousness and piousness. Cardinal and White Sox fans exist to be the dark, diabolical forces that oppose us. They are the yin to our yang, the Joker to our Batman, the demon to our angel, the insurgence to our freedom, the oil to our water, the club to our baby seal. Their happiness occurs only in direct conflict with everything that is pure and good in this world.

He actually didn't suck at all at the end of last year. It just seemed like it because he was so incredibly dominant for the first month+ he was here. But he didn't give up more than 2 earned runs in his last 7 starts of the regular season.

He did walk a bunch of guys though.

He's not finishing his pitches and hasn't been for awhile, that's why alot of stuff is up. Whether that's because of mechanics or injury, I don't know.

That's why I said he "kinda" sucked. He walked 14 people in his final 3 starts in only 15 1/3 innings. He struggled to get out of the 5th inning most of that time and he ended up hurt for a bit right before the playoffs. And we don't need to talk about how average he looked against the Dodgers either.

All, I'm saying is he's not the same guy from most of 2008, and with only 2 pitches, it's not hard to see why he's struggled.

Looking back at last season when he came to Chicago, it really is incredible how dominant he was. 1.77 ERA, .97 WHIP, .157 BAA in 12 starts. 2 ER or fewer in 11 of 12 starts. 47 K in his first 30 IP, and 89 K in 71 IP overall, with 5 double digit strikeout games in 12 starts.

Ah, I interpreted the "kinda" as more exaggeratory. As in "Soriano is kinda sucking the last 2 months".

He only has two pitches, but when he's right, his fastball is between 95+ and 90. His change-up is between 75 and 80, with some downward movement. He also throws everywhere in between that range -- from 75 to 95. Again, if he's right, you could see a 95 mph fastball, followed by a 75 mph change up, then a sinking change at 82 mph. Or something along those lines.

When his command is off and he can't get his fastball up in that higher range, it really limits what he can do. Instead of a 20 mph range in pitch speed, he's down to a 15 mph range, or even less. And if he can't spot his pitches, then he's going to get into trouble.
