QUOTE Zambrano serenades empty Wrigley
By Paul Sullivan

Carlos Zambrano says he always wondered what it would be like to sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" at Wrigley Field.

Wednesday morning he walked up the ramp and into the press box around 9:45 a.m., grabbed the microphone from Len Kasper and began singing over the p.a. system to no one in particular.

"Maybe in seven years when I retire, I can come up and do it," Zambrano said.

Why not just do it on a day he doesn't pitch?

"Nah, Jim Hendry will get mad at me," he said.

Zambrano also came over to the press box section where the writers and radio broadcasters work, enjoying the view and saying how easy the media has it. A reporter promptly summoned security, and Zambrano left the box without any incident.

The tarp is on the field, but they are expected to start the game on time.

I'm pretty sure Sullivan took what was a big fun joke between Z and the press and turned it into a near incident. What a douche.

Someone in the media called security on Zambrano? What the fuck is wrong with our sportswriters? Unreal.

I'm guessing they jokingly called security, but Sullivan spun it to make Z look bad.

Sully probably was the douche that called security on Z out of fear that he would snuff the life right out of him.

Then he writes about it. Pussy.

I'm all in favor of getting Fox into the lineup, but Soriano gets two hits yesterday so Lou sits him today?

Good thinking.

I saw one of his hits, 0-2 and Vasquez hangs one that he nubs back through the middle. I hope he's benching him for striking out with runners on 1st and 2nd and nobody out that ended up costing us the game.

They called him out at second? Are you fucking kidding?
The thing you need to remember is that all Cardinals fans and all White Sox fans are very bad people. It's a fact that has been scientifically proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Being a Cubs fan is the only path to rightousness and piousness. Cardinal and White Sox fans exist to be the dark, diabolical forces that oppose us. They are the yin to our yang, the Joker to our Batman, the demon to our angel, the insurgence to our freedom, the oil to our water, the club to our baby seal. Their happiness occurs only in direct conflict with everything that is pure and good in this world.

The Braves' announcers are even saying that Fukudome was clearly safe and that it wasn't even close.

I know "it wasn't even close" is overused by fans and a lot of times it really was close, but that one seriously wasn't even close, lol

I wish Hart would throw strikes like he apparently does in Iowa.
