So, according to Phil, we are going to forget about 2003, and forget about 2007 when he was so good, people ripped Lou for taking him out, but we are still going to mock his postseason pitching?

Of the 3 earned runs he let up, one scored on an error, one scored on a home run by roidy mcroiderson, and one scored because by some miracle, the Dodgers were able to get to Neil Cotts, when Zambrano left with one out and a man at first.
So please explain to me how Zambrano's pitching in 2008 had as much to do with the game 2 loss as the terrible fielding?

Rogers doesn't know what he's talking about as usual. Also, he and the rest of the Trib Sports section are trying their damnedest to turn the paper into a tabloid just to sell more. I think the 2 errors were on balls that should have been double plays, plus a bad defensive play. He actually got 8 outs. Another amazing thing, is that even with the crappy defense, Z kept his cool. I think Zambrano can pull his shit together enough to be a number one in the playoffs.
Lou blew it, by not starting him in game one. If Zambrano pitches that well in game 1, the Cubs win. After the Dempster debacle in game one, the rest of the team is tight and collapsed around Z in game 2.
I like you guys a lot.

If some internet blogger suggested giving away Z for free, people would be all over him, asking if he was 9 years old, calling him a mindless cocksucking dildo, etc.
How the flying fuck can a major writer at a major paper get away with this kind of twaddle?

And he obviously hasn't been paying attention all season because Z has been our most consistent SP aside from Lilly. If it weren't for his short DL stint and lack of run support, Z would easily have 7-8 wins already.
The Tribune should take his advice and waive Rogers' contract and see who bites. My guess is that no other newspaper or media outlet would want such a retard. The depth of his stupidity knows no bounds. He's just a silly, silly man with a computer.

Phil Rogers has been hating the Cubs for years.
Of course, he would like the Cubs to DFA Z. It makes a lot of sense to take one of the winningest pitchers in baseball and pay him to pitch for someone else the rest of the year.
Z did not have a good day and was not under control but that doesn't mean that the Cubs should rid themselves of a talented player for nothing.
Rogers is a douche bag.
I still love how he predicted that Carpenter was going to win 20+ games, I think it was 24, this year after his first spring training start.
The guy is a jerk. I love his Sunday morning column where is attempts to mimic Peter Gammons' old column in the Boston Globe. Unfortunately, Rogers doesn't have the intelligence, baseball acumen or prose that Gammons would bring to his column.

It's still early to make major changes and we're within striking distance. But the team should bust out a red marker to circle a date in the near future to make some moves if the team's play doesn't improve.

Get us a bat! Plus, what's Ramirez' prognosis? He's not supposed to be a 100% upon returning. If we're going all the way then we'll need bats to go up against the pitchers that we'll face in the playoffs.

Uh..I love Z and all, but the Phils aren't trading Utley for him. I doubt if they'd trade him for <i>anyone</i> outside of a Pujols/Mauer-type superstar.
