Hoffpauir is actually kinda sorta starting to look servicable in RF.

He was obviously out of gas--made an easy out at the plate and then gets pulled after giving up another run. Lou shouldn't have been talked out of sending Bradley or Soriano in to pitch hit.

This team is not going anywhere without a shakeup--maybe after a 4 game winning streak is not the time to have it. But after the next 4 game losing streak...perhaps.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
The team went places the past 2 years... I don't know how you can be so confident that this team is going nowhere.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

40 years of observation--that's why. Absent a major move, the Cubs will finish no higher than 3rd--write it down.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I'll write down, but you'll probably be wrong. This team is still built to win, I just think they'd be better equipped if someone else was calling the shots.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I'd love to be wrong. I would take no pleasure in being right about this. But it's almost the end of June and the Cubs are nothing but mediocre--even in a shitty division.

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

So you believe they're fine? With no major moves?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Do I think they can win without firing Lou? Yes. What other move could be made?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

So you do think they're fine? Ok. Glad you have the optimism. I wish I had some of that Kool Aid.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

We're just barely out of first right now, even though we've been sucking, which means if we're able to get some of our cold players hot and get Ramirez back, we could make up those few games. I can't see why it requires Kool Aid to think we just might stand a chance when we're not even to the ASB yet.

We'll be fine. No way we're getting shut out tonight. Here come the runs.

Without making a single move, the Cubs (at worst) are gonna be in contention into September, without a doubt.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I can see that--given the crappy division. I believe they'd have a much better chance by canning Lou. On the other hand, Chicago is almost as bad of a fishbowl as New York, so I'm not sure anyone they chose to replace him would be anything more than a distraction. Except, perhaps Trammel.
I'm 100% fine with this. I'm just glad there's an actual plan in place that isn't, "Let's load up on retreads and hope we get lucky." I'm a little tired of that plan.

Milton Bradley has been a profound disappointment Even when he's been healthy. Should have seen that one coming. I was wrongly optimistic.

He's so mediocre from the left side. Good thing we got him for his ability to hit from both sides.

100% agree. He's already over 100 pitches.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I was at the game last night and i was utterly pissed. I thought for sure we'd see Bradley leading off the 7th. I don't know why Lou would just give away an out like that knowing how hard it is for this team to score runs.
