Milton Bradley sucks

it's funny, we all knew signing bradley was a gamble, even those of us in favor of the deal thought it was a gmable, but did anyone think it would be because he can't hit? we knew the injury history was going to be a problem, but his suckiness at the plate? i never saw that coming. should have, but didn't.

That's exactly why the guy upsets me so much. I knew he'd miss time, but I assumed that we'd want him back in the lineup badly each time he'd get injured. He must be so messed up in the head right now.

That's exactly why the guy upsets me so much. I knew he'd miss time, but I assumed that we'd want him back in the lineup badly each time he'd get injured. He must be so messed up in the head right now.

It's also been a handed thing and a road thing. His splits batting right handed (.294/.385/.471) are good and his splits at home(.269/.367/.500) are good. So if we can just get him to only bat right handed and only play home games, we should be set.

HOUSTON -- Has manager Lou Piniella found the secret to getting $30 million right fielder Milton Bradley to hit his weight, and maybe even a little better than that?

After the .208-hitting Bradley went 0-for-6 in his return to the lineup Tuesday, Piniella had the video coordinator retrieve video of Bradley during his career season with Texas last year and put together a DVD of this season.

Then Piniella and hitting coach Gerald Perry came in early and spent the better part of an hour comparing them side-by-side.

''We found something I think will help him get to the ball much easier,'' said Piniella, who wouldn't elaborate. Piniella spent about five minutes talking in the clubhouse to Bradley about it before Wednesday's game, at one point standing to demonstrate stance balance and back-arm hitting motion. ''It's fairly minor. He doesn't have to change much at all except one little thing.

No, not really, but his career (and 2009) splits suggest that he's a much better RH (.302/.387/.888) hitter than LH (.267/.360/.793), so it kind of calls into question the idea that adding another LH bat such as Bradley makes us more balanced and better overall. Look, I liked the signing at the time, but not for the reasons that our front office gave.

Eh. I still have high hopes for Milton. I wish he could move without getting injured though. Can he play the game in a golf cart? That might help.

He looked horrible from the right side last night. I saw at least two ABs and didn't see one good swing. He was just sort of stabbing at the ball.

Yeah, but he's looked bad from both sides during this series, so I wouldn't take much away from those ABs last night other than that he's pressing.

Runners at the corners. 1 out. Flyout to deep right. Bradley catches it. 2 outs. Bradley throws the ball into the stands. Runner scores but would have scored anyways. Runner from 1st gets to move up to 3rd.

Despite the bonehead play, he actually hit decently today: 2-4 with a single, a double off the wall and 2 RBI.

He was the best hitter on the team today, which is kind of sad......but maybe he's on the verge of turning it around.
