Milton Bradley sucks

"Milton Bradley of
2 years/$20M (2009-10), plus 2011 option
2 years/$20M (2009-10), plus 2011 option
signed by Chicago Cubs as a free agent 1/6/09
$4M signing bonus
09:$5M, 10:$9M, 11:$12M option
2011 may become $12M club option with $2M buyout based on Bradley's health
2011 option vests with 75 games played in 2009"<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

75 games...that's it? What a va-jay-jay.

So if he plays in 75 games this season then he gets $12 million for 2011? Wonderful.

And he's more than half way there with 39 games played. If he's too hurt to play the field, he shouldn't be pinch hitting, period.

If it's based on games, that is such a stupid clause. It should have been based on PAs or something to that effect. Just dumb. Talk about throwing money into the abyss.

I have no doubt that Bradley is aware of this clause, and it is the reason for avoiding the DL.

Bradley is clearly a pussy and does not know the difference between pain and injury. I'll bet you that 50% of the Cubs currently have a strain somewhere on their body right now, shit, I'd bet a bunch of the people here have a strain somewhere on their body currently, I know I have one in my hamstring right now. These are the kind of problems that arise all the time and they're the kind of problems that shouldn't cause people to miss weeks of time. A day, maybe a couple, then play through the pain until it's gone. Bradley is a fucking joke and is a fucking drama queen with his "injuries."

Worst signing ever.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

totally agree. bradley gets hurt doing things that people do everyday. i can see getting hit by a pitch or slamming into a wall, but he gets hurt running. often. he is a pussy. he makes mark prior look brave and courageous.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Does anyone else get a pain in their chest everytime you see a Mauer highlight on ESPN and wish we could have drafted him that year instead of Prior?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
The Twins had the first pick and took him.
Prior "luckily" fell to us at #2.

And I am sure that we would have taken some other scrub if the Twins took Prior at #1.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

If I remember correctly, the Cubs were going to take Teixeira before they locked in on Prior. Sad, that.

Here's the thing. Prior *was* the obvious choice. The Cubs picked correctly.

Then Dusty came to the Cubs and abused Prior's arm like a meth addict shaking a crying baby.

Not to beat a dead horse, but there isn't a doubt in my mind that Prior would still be dominating to this day and be my favorite Cub, had he been handled correctly.

I agree wholeheartedly. It's really fucking sad and I get all pissed off when I start thinking about what could've been.

We have been over this time and time again, but I'll still never believe throwing an extra 200 pitches more than he should have in 2003 is causing him to still be hurt in 2009.
