totally agree. bradley gets hurt doing things that people do everyday. i can see getting hit by a pitch or slamming into a wall, but he gets hurt running. often. he is a pussy. he makes mark prior look brave and courageous.

What pisses me off the most is that just when that fucker started hitting well and right when we need him the most, he all of a sudden comes up lame. Why would any team give this guy more than a 1 year deal?

The Twins had the first pick and took him.
Prior "luckily" fell to us at #2.
And I am sure that we would have taken some other scrub if the Twins took Prior at #1.

Well I don't know if I like this "not going on the DL, but not ready to play right now" business. This sure worked out well earlier in the year. Either be sure he's going to be good to go in a few days or just put him on the DL. If you're questioning it at all, this is the last guy you should be optimistic about working through it quickly. Len said he should be available to at least pinch-hit this weekend, but we'll see. I sure hope so.

Twins wanted Prior but wouldn't deal with Scott Boras so the Cubs were able to pick up "the employee".

Mauer is from St. Paul, he was the local kid everyone wanted. I think they probably would have taken him no matter what.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Milton Bradley (calf) will avoid the disabled list.
Bradley will be available to pinch-hit this weekend as the Cubs take on the Reds and may return to the starting lineup early next week against Houston. 'First of all, he's feeling better, which is a good sign in itself,'' manager Lou Piniella said of the decision. ''Second of all, we really don't have many options. And third of all, we need him on the roster playing.''<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Fucking ridiculous. Put his pussy ass on the DL and give Fox some time in RF, that way at least the team options kicks in for 2011 so we can buy him out and dump his ass.

Mauer was the local kid but the scouts had proclaimed Prior a can't miss prospect who was MLB ready.
Mauer was also considered a highly touted prospect but not as highly touted as Prior.
Money became the most significant issue as to why the Twins passed on him. It didn't hurt that Mauer was local but Prior was proclaimed to be the best prospect of the draft who required more money to sign.

2011 season becomes a team option with a $2m buyout if he doesn't reach a minimum number of games played over the first two years of his contract, but I can't find the specific number of games.

And the worst part about that, pinch hitting appearances count as games played. Hendry needs to step in here and force him to the DL.
