Chip is a douche
#1
I'm watching the game last night on Peachtree TV, the home of the Braves. In a big spot in the 8th the cub fans at turner field are doing the "Let's go Cubbies..." chant.

Chip goes. God, I realized Cub fans are annoying after I stopped working for the Cubs, or words to that effect.

What a punk ass.

I know. Cheering for your favorite team and everything. What a bunch of annoying assholes.

Maybe if Braves fans ever filled Turner Field, they wouldn't have to deal with so many Cubs fans.

Why does every broadcaster who leaves this team become a bitter, smarmy, fuck?

Then he spent a whole half inning looking through the Pirates media guide trying to figure out McCloth's contract status while the game was going on in the background of his conversations. I was just screaming Google it fucker, Google it!!!!!

what makes it worse for Chip is that his grandfather was loved by Cub fans like no other broadcaster in sports. his fucking statue stands outside of Wrigley for crying out loud. to shit on the fans is a pretty low blow. we had nothing to do with his departure.

I don't suppose there is any chance someone has the video?
I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.

I watched the whole game on peachtree and didn't hear anything, I missed a few parts here and there so I guess I missed it.

Chip did say it was a treat when the Cubs came to town and they were one of his favorites and raved about how good Lee's tag up play was in the 11th and said a lot of good things. I didn't think he was a douche at all.

How is "Let's go Cubbies" more annoying than the drunk, fat white guy version of an Indian war chant over and over and over again while fans make chopping motions with their arms?? Ridiculous statement. I would say an independent observer would conclude the braves have the most annoying cheer in baseball.

Not to mention that the fans of EVERY SINGLE SPORTS TEAM IN THE NATION do the "Let's Go >insert team<" chant at every game. Talk about idiotic statements.

Let's Go Cubbies is annoying as fuck to me, anytime I here the word Cubbies, I want to vomit. It's the Cubs or the Chicago Cubs, the word Cubbies is fucking lame-o.

I agree that the term Cubbies is lame, always has been, but that type of chanting goes on at every ballpark every day.

I'm having a hard time believing he really said that. Maybe vitamin misunderstood something he said.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Chip commenting on how annoying the "Let's Go Cubbies" chant is......I can tell you first hand that the Tomahawk crap is much, MUCH more annoying......and most of the time it's not even coming from the fans, but they blast it through the PA.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Taken from last night's game thread.

He definitely said it, and it did seem like it was out of character, that's why I brought it up. It seemed interesting.

I think annoying can be taken out of context easily just like the word ignorant can be. If I ever tell anyone that their ignorant to a subject(which I don't for this reason) for the simple fact that they don't know about it, people automatically take it as an insult.

I think it would be annoying to any team to have another team take over your home ball park, but that doesn't mean that the annoyed party means anything malicious by it.

I just listened to it on the archive, he wasn't being a douche at all. He said while chuckling "Its kinda amazing when you don't work for the Cubs anymore how you realize how annoying the lets go Cubbies chants can get, ha ha" It wasn't smug or douchey at all. It certainly wasn't a shot at Cubs fans.
