I'm with you, this series was pathetic... It is amazing what can change in 4 days.

Holy fuck, I hate this team. I keep finding shit to do, so that I don't have to watch this fucking trainwreck. This team is so unlikable.

Splitting with the best team in the NL is not a terrible thing.

I'm not talking about this game or this series, I'm talking about this team as a whole. Even when they win, they're not fun to watch. There's nothing enjoyable about this team.

Is anyone honestly having fun this year?

It's gone beyond the 'no fun' aspect for me and crossed over into the 'not interested in even watching' category. I was in Florida and didn't see a game for a week and half, it didn't even slightly bother me.

There just isn't much to look forward to IMO. I'm not saying that we have no hope or that the season is lost, but it's hard to imagine what the spark will be that finally turns things around for us. And yeah, there haven't been that many exciting games so far, and it's really hard to like the team as a whole. It just looks like a .500 team with no balls and no direction.

Another few weeks of playing mediocre ball, and I'm gonna start looking for other things to do with my time.

It's hard for me to be too upset with a split against the Dodgers with us fielding a bunch of minor leaguers.

I'm not going to give up on this team. I can't help but think about '07 when the team seemed like it wasn't going to mesh and it was a complete disaster at 9 games under .500. Then they started playing out of their minds and it was a blast.

I'm holding out hope for a similar scenario. the offseason is too long and cold for me to not at least try and get into this season.

I know this sounds weird coming from me, but it's where I'm at.

I stopped watching every game in 2005, after the nightmare that was the final two weeks of 2004. I couldn't be more happy with my decision.

I think the assumption that the Cubs would make the playoffs has been a double-whammy in terms of having joy watching the team in the regular season (especially early): on the one hand, we assume they'll make the playoffs, so watching the regular season is less exciting or enjoyable. On the other hand, the Cubs are sucking relative ass, and the playoffs seem like a dream, so watching the regular season is less exciting or enjoyable.

yesterday was going to be the first time in a week where i was going to be able to sit down and watch a game all the way through. i was done before the bottom of the first inning.

I watched opening day in it's entirety. Not very excited about the team going into that day.

Since then, have caught only a few innings here and there. I bought the MLB app for my iPhone, so I track games and can listen live on there if I want.

Also, this is the first year that I haven't purchased tickets in advance.

On Wednesday I was actually thinking about sitting down and catching the game--but we'll see.

I echo your feelings...feelings...feelings....feelings...any way, I sat down with a beer, no one else in the room, and turned it off before the first half was even over. Sad.
