Cubs vs. Dodgers 5/28/09
#16
Why in the blue fuck would we start Fontenot at third and Blanco, who apparently can't hit righty, at second base against a lefty after calling up Fox?

I'd accept a four game sweep if Loney and Pierre both suffered career-ending concussions from a fastball to the dome.

Because we couldn't beat the Dodgers before due to all of the RHB.

Because Fox is awful defensively? Looks like they're going to give him a shot to play there for an inning at least though.

Points!

Seriously? Starting Fontenot or Blanco over Scales and Fox against a lefty? Does Lou bet against the Cubs?

And that was awesome. That's the first time I can remember the crowd getting super into it and then the Cubs homering the next pitch. It's almost always a strikeout.

1) that only goes to half the equation

2) considering Fontenot hits, what, .200 against lefties and Blanco can't hit righty (why?), sometimes you have to take a chance.

Scales probably got to the park late or something, he'd be starting otherwise. Lou started him against the lefty over Fontenot every time before this.

Scales needs to stay on the team. DFA Miles's sorry ass.

We know he's going to rake. Everybody and their mother has said he's so bad there you just can't put him there at the major league level. Fontenot's made a couple great plays there tonight. Obviously if he's just going to get a hit every time up, it's worth the risk though, I agree.

I tihnk they're debating whether Lou just burned Hill. I was afraid Fox had somehow managed to hit without being announced.

Yeah I think you're right, and I was worried about that too.
