There's little debate as to who the best everyday player is, but there's a pretty good debate about who's MLB's best pitcher. I've always been a Santana guy, but Halladay has consistently faced stronger competition. Young guys like Greinke and Lincecum, Hamels...there are really some artists out there.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
The next 5 years will be hell in the NL for the Cy Young. Johan, Lincecum, Hamels, Z, Peavy, Webb, Billingsly and Gallardo are getting to, or are already in their prime. Yikes.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

As much as I hate saying it...Z does not belong on that list.

Then neither do Hamels, Peavy, Billingsley, and Gallardo.

You're now aware that Joe Beimel just gave up a 2 out, 3-run homer to Pablo Sandoval to blow the save.

The AL gets all the love from the media that they're better, yet the best arms are in the NL. Go figure.
I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

I like how Grienke's had a good month and a half and KB's ready to put him up there with Santana and Halladay.

I was just referring to the fact that he's on the cover of Sports Illustrated this week, under the title "The Best Pitcher In Baseball."
You should get out more.

Last year, Greinke was 10th in the AL among starters with a 3.47 era and was 5th in K's. He's also been in the league since 2004, so it's not like he's come out of no where.
I got nothin'.

Right, and he also has a career record of 40-46, and ERA north of 4.00, and a WHIP of 1.3. 2 years ago he wasn't even a full time starter and he's battled emotional issues that have kept him away from the field. I realize he's got great stuff and has potential to be a real good pitcher, but to use his name in the same context as Halladay or Santana, at this point, makes no sense. Also, 10th in the AL in ERA doesn't get you in the conversation with Halladay and Santana.

Also, the fact that KB is using a Sports Illustrated cover as some kind of barometer is laughable. I don't need to get out more, KB needs to learn the meaning of 'context.'

I will say that record is meaningless, especially when you've spent your entire career on the Royals. That said, he sucked his first 2 season in the majors, missed most of his 3rd then started getting better. This year, he has been incredible thus far. That's certainly not to say in the career side of things that he's in the company of Hallady or Santana. But for this season, he's been the best in the AL.
I got nothin'.

This was my exact quote, dumbshit. Anyone with an iota of reading comprehension would deduce that I was comparing Halladay to Santana, in the running for the title of "MLB's best pitcher."
Then, later, I mention some young guys who have shown some flash; I even grouped them together, apart from Halladay/Santana.
Comparing Greinke to Hamels isn't a stretch: last year he was 13-10. Hamels was 14-10.
Hamels had the great post-season, but Greinke is coming off one of the most dominating months in recent baseball history.

So your original post made no sense; you were just trying to be a dick.
As usual, you succeeded.

If you think that your statement is 2 different streams of thought, then I don't know what to tell you. You talk about Halladay and Santana and then immediately talk about the other 3 and with proper punctuation, it could be one sentence. There's not 2 separate thoughts there, the way it's written.

I hope that orangutan never sees the lineup again for the remainder of the season and beyond, and that his penis falls off.
