Cubs @ Astros 5/6/09
#61
Reed has scored twice on passed balls and now reached base on a wild pitch.
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

It's nice to know that no matter what happens the rest of this game and tomorrow, we won't have to face Valverde.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Man, do I hate that douche. How many rituals can one pitcher have? So annoying.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Yeah. Brian Wilson on SF is quickly coming close to matching Valverde's doucheness.

That's 7 double plays in 61 at bats. Just 11 in 494 at bats last year.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
He's fat.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
His main problem is pulling outside pitches, I don't think his weight is causing that. And he looks about the same to me.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
He looks at least 20 pounds heavier to me. Maybe more.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
20 pounds? No way. And regardless, that has nothing to do with his struggles at the plate. Teams are pitching him away constantly and he's trying to pull the ball. All you're going to do is swing and miss or roll it over weakly to the left side.

Someone should dig up some pics from last season for weight comparison. I would, but I'm too lazy.

It looks like Soto ate Alexei Ramirez. So, fine -- not 20 pounds. More like 15.

That was the cheapest homer I've ever seen.

Harden should not have started this inning. 7 innings and 92 pitches should have been it.

Harden's stuff still is fine. And a cheap blooper. He's 93-96.

This is the 2nd time in the last week Lou's had Marmol get up literally right before he takes the pitcher out, then stands out there for a minute.

I'm not saying his stuff diminished, but we should have taken advantage of that low(er) pitch count and just called it a great start.

Marmol makes me nervous.

2 outings in a row Marmol's thrown a strike on the first pitch, odd.

Good lord, nice stretch Marmol. Don't rip your groin.

Not that he would have got him, but Miles has a horrible arm

He didn't get everything on it because he got rid of it immediately, like he's supposed to. That was a great turn.
