Pedro?
#1
As far as I know, Pedro Martinez hasn't "officially" retired. Would he be worth taking a chance on? Hell...he could probably be a solid bullpen guy still if he doesn't have the endurance to start anymore.

He wants like $8 or $10 M.

Ugh.

Well...he isn't going to get that -- and he shouldn't.

Abreu said he wanted $13M or something like that -- and ended up settling for WAY less. What if you could get Pedro for $5M? I say pick him up after the ASB, let him get in shape in AAA and then bring him up in late July or early August.

No thanks. He'd only be useful as a #5 starter, and he's worse than any of our five. I can't see him succeeding out of the pen these days.

Pedro said he's a frontline starter and he's gonna be paid like a frontline starter. If he doesn't get the $$$ he wants, he's just not gonna play. I think there's little chance you get him for $5 M and I think there's no chance you get him to pitch out of the pen.

That's exactly what I've heard. We don't need or want Pedro.
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance
