so the kids walks into the lunchroom chanting "shut out" over and over. then he asks me if the cubs are even a major league team. i have no retort. i'm getting busted on by a 12 year old kid. i'm speechless.

the other day he showed me a baseball record book. theres a list of teams that have won the most world series on it. the cardinals are on the list. he asks me why the cubs aren't on that list. his friend asks me when was the last time the cubs won a world series. they fucking know the answers to these questions. sometimes i get real upset but damned if i let them see me cry.
