Because he's been out and hasn't thrown much in awhile. He last pitched on April 24th, threw 11 pitches, and before that April 21st he only threw 7 pitches.

As for how he looked, just couldn't find his release point, was all over the place. His velocity was there at 93-96, but he had absolutely no command of either pitches.

Because Lou was overmanaging a game that was already over.

When a guy is coming back from an injury I'd rather have his first appearance back in a situation like this instead of up 1 facing the other team's best hitter.
The thing you need to remember is that all Cardinals fans and all White Sox fans are very bad people. It's a fact that has been scientifically proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Being a Cubs fan is the only path to rightousness and piousness. Cardinal and White Sox fans exist to be the dark, diabolical forces that oppose us. They are the yin to our yang, the Joker to our Batman, the demon to our angel, the insurgence to our freedom, the oil to our water, the club to our baby seal. Their happiness occurs only in direct conflict with everything that is pure and good in this world.

Ugly, ugly game. Just couldn't do anything right, as Hollandsworth was just saying on the postgame show. Usually you can find a positive or two in a game, the only possible one I could think of is Patton coming in and stranding the bases loaded, but that was with 2 outs and down 10 runs already. Disappointing after a great game last night. I think we'll see them start to get it going on this homestand, although the Fish are always a pain in our ass.

I said we'd go 10-12 to 12-10 in April and everybody would be freaking out, that's exactly what's happened. No more than 20% of the team is playing well at all right now. There's no way in living hell they'll keep playing like this. If everybody on the team just got back to, or even near career averages, this team looks a shitload better. Really need to get Aramis back and soon, that's my biggest worry. Go get em tomorrow.

They must have known he wasn't right. His release point was awful. Anyway, I'd rather have him come in to start an inning, than to enter with 2 men on in scoring position. This isn't the same guy that we saw earlier in the season, obviously, so I question why he was put into such a situation coming off an injury.

I don't think this next series is going to be any better. Fucking Marlins own us.

I think we'll split. Tomorrow night's gonna be tough with Volstad going. If we can get something going against him, I'll feel a lot better.
