2024 Gameday Catchall
The starting pitching is the only redeemable part of this team. I really have to stop watching this. It's the same thing every single game.

This reminds me of those 2012-14 Cubs teams that couldn’t hit at all but had solid starting pitching, although the bullpen was never this craptacular back then. It seemed like every game was close over those years, but we seemed to come up short most of the time.

I can barely remember those teams. For good reason, probably.

This team has become comically predictable. Not fun.

Cubs lose. It wasn’t a late innings loss. Cubs starters and bullpen delivered. The 1-7 in RISP provided just about what you need to know. Fans realized that Cubs bats get overpowered when facing pitchers called up for first MLB starts. Happ getting caught stealing in 8th inning of a 1 run game along with a couple other outs on the bases demonstrate that Cubs are looking for new ways to lose due to having no faith in their offense

I know this is hard to believe, but the Chicago Cubs just won a game!

The 4 game sweep was narrowly avoided.

UN freakin believable!

Cubs win
Cubs win
Cubs win

Despite 2-12 RISP but bullpen didn’t allow a run and Happ with HR in 10th

Why do even the wins feel like losses?

I’m just not emotionally invested in this team at all. I feel nothing.

Aside from not being great, other than Shota there isn't anyone worth tuning in to see. Even during the rough years in the late 1990s and early 2000s we had Sosa to keep us entertained. This team is boring and devoid of personality. Obviously, winning can change that perception, but I don't see how they're going to make a miraculous turnaround. The offense is lacking and the bullpen is horrendous. Starting pitching is the only thing keeping us from being the White Sox.

Fans and modicum of class will always separate the Cubs from Sox

I just meant our respective performances this season.

1 for 12 with RISP and a win

Just the way Jed scheduled it back in January

Swanson in mid season form

Oh the joys of a 2 day win streak - believe without a Cub player going on the IL

Would like to skip yesterday but skipping reality isn’t in the cards for the 2024 Cubs

We might have seen the last Hendricks start which went along with too many other of his 2024 starts - likely headed to IL with back issue

No clue but some guesses who will replace him as a starter - Smyly / bullpen day?

Weather has been great the last days so hope everyone has been enjoying getting outside
