Color me shocked. For real. I understand we don't know shit about any of these guys but I wasn't expecting this--guess I missed the comments Funk is referring to. Don't know why I considered Heyward one of the reasonably minded guys on this team, but I did.  This and all the other bs we are seeing sure makes it hard to feel optimistic about this country and how things will go regarding this stuff.

What if any trade value does Zach Davies have remaining?



Its clear that he is not working out as a starter for the club but not certain what Cubs can do at this point (5 GS, 19 IP, 20 ER, 15 BB, 14 K).



Just as we have heard how easy it is to game plan against Cubs offense, wondering if similar starters are also an issue with this squad. Pairing Hendricks with Davies - and Arrieta - in the starting rotation may be damaging as teams can game plan to face crafty, location focused starters with high 80 mph four seem fastballs.



Davies and Hendricks were supposed to be the two consistent pieces of the rotation, but so far this season, theyve been not only bad but two of the worst starters in baseball, allowing a combined 39 earned runs. No clue if he has any value given his starts this season but issue needs to be addressed as the pairing may be putting big strains on fragile bullpen and non existent offense

Couldn’t find my other rant regarding trading both Joc and Davies but guessing that Cub org took the bitter rant to heart and Zack and Joc just decided to be good Cub players rather than what they were doing back in April. Yeah, that’s it

Oh I know, I'm just making fun of the idiot who wants people to believe that he's on the edge of death. No way to prove it, but I'd bet the vast majority of those people are full of shit and just want attention, and/or it's like a bizaro placebo effect thing. You're fine dude, drink some water and take some advil and shut up already.

If it helps, if you read what Heyward said, it's not like he's a doing it out of total ignorance or a crazy political stance or something.  He says they're following protocols, are tested constantly and if someone gets it they're isolated right away and he's being careful off the field. He says he's not anti-vax but stopped getting the flu shot in-season because it usually comes out in Sept/October and he got sick once from it and he needs to be at his best then. 

 

It's all stuff I think is pretty dumb, and there are great counters to all of it, but I don't know that it should completely change your perception of him.

I can wrap my head around what he's saying but the fact that he's seemingly convinced himself that getting Covid could actually be less dangerous than getting the vaccine is just kind of nuts. Makes me wonder what news he watches.
