And to add to that, the #1 young Padre that Manny kept bringing in his press conference as THE guy he wants to play with the most is Fernando Tatis, former Sox prospect (acquired in the James Shields trade). Well done Rick Hahn.

The White Sox FO must have used some advanced stat to show that despite the cash ($27 MM paid by Sox), Shields performance (12-23 with a 4.78 ERA and 321 innings over 3 seasons), WAR(-1.1 fWAR), and loss of prospects (Tatis #2 prospect in baseball currently and Erik Johnson), the trade was the right move for the Sox. Just ask any Southsider.
