Was Jim Thome never assumed to be a steroid guy? If not, why not? His numbers seem to have swelled during the great steroid era, but he clearly didn't get the same stigma as others from that era in HOF voting.
I got nothin'.

So was one of their 50 other OFs going to Miami in that deal?

What about Griffey?
He had 4 or 5 years of huge HR numbers and then had a pretty big drop off---health was an issue too, which happens with that stuff.
No one ever even whispered about him, did they?
He didn't change head sizes like Sosa but neither did Arod.

I don't think adding Yelich changes the Brewers outlook all that much. He's good, sure, but I think some are overvaluing him, especially if he ends up in CF.

Now they sign Cain. They sure are trying to make a run for it.

The Brewers still have a ways to go before they become playoff contenders.

I hope they enjoy an aging declining Cain. Funny they had him before he was good and now will have him after he was good.

The truly good news is that this should prove to be the first domino in the FA market.

I'm guessing the Brewers will now trade from their surplus OFs for a top-of-rotation arm now. Well, this is getting interesting.
