Well, the Cubs sure are trying to hoard every catcher it appears.

Lol seems right that it's in response to Rapp.

Cubs rationale for 2021 season - Front office hasn’t fixed the offensive issues that have lingered since 2018 so we’re giving fans something else to complain about. How about that starting rotation?

The Cubs and Padres have agreed to a deal that will send right-hander Yu Darvish and catcher Victor Caratini from Chicago to San Diego, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports. The Cubs will receive righty Zach Davies, shortstops Reginald Preciado and Yeison Santana, and outfielders Owen Caissie and Ismael Mena in return. I also heard whispers that the Cubs are eating part of Darvishs salary as a part of this deal.

Thus far the response is...not great.

It's kind of funny that we're shipping out Yu's personal catcher as part of the deal. Anyway, I don't know any of these prospects, so hard to judge the return. And Davies doesn't quite fit the profile of what this team needs either short or long term. I must be missing something.

The worst part of this is the further confirmation that these owners are just going to get worse. I'm really starting to hope at some point they're done and want to sell. Does Trueblood have an axe to grind?

Padres fans didn't seem too thrilled with Jed's tenure when he was GM.
Maybe he's trying to make up for it? Ross must be pumped.

Haven't really followed Trueblood since he completely lost his shit over the Chapman trade, so hard for me to take him seriously. Anyway, Maybe the Ricketts family will pull an O'Malley and keep all the properties around the ballpark and sell off the team in a few years, who knows? Probably not.
