Its just an ESPN broadcast. They need 3 channels because of the number of games. There will be games on ESPN and ESPN2 and I guess they didnt want to schedule them on the lesser ESPN channels.

I guess we've got no choice but to hope Kimbrel has found something and won't shit the bed when the heat is on, cause with Wick down, we have no choice but to use him (probably had no choice even if Wick didn't go down with no off days for this thing.)

 

I don't know how I feel about Hendricks starting in game #1. Part of me hoped it would be Yu because I thought he was ready for the pressure of that game but the way Kyle has pitched, especially at Wrigley, it's hard to argue.

Especially when it's Ross making the call. 

 

As I was putting my daughter to bed tonight, we were talking about the possibilities of the series in the dark and how there's a decent chance we'll split the first two games and have Lester starting game #3. I told her I thought that if there's anyone's shoulders you want to carry that load it's Jon Lester's. And she said "Yeah, but he's old now." And I said "Yeah, but his shoulders are still his shoulders, right?" And she said "Yeah."

 

Let's go Cubs. This team has done better than I thought they were going to do and I can't help but be excited to see what they can do against Miami, even knowing how fucked this bullpen and this offense is. 

 

If Kyle doesn't have his stuff, I'm sure that energy will turn to misery pretty quick, but for now...it's energy.

Well, here we are. Get a win and then hand it to Lester for one last Wrigley start. Felina, I think/hope you're gonna be right. I just really want Darvish to be on and limit his pitches early. If we ever needed a complete or near complete game, today is the day.

Feel you on that one, but I know we all arent shocked by this either with how strange the cubs have performed offensively overall and our inability to hit elite pitching, new pitchers to the league and soft tossing specialists.

On the plus side, it was a fun mini season.  Lots of good times when there was little else to watch on TV.

I'm already over this season and the past 3 years. If there aren't going to be any major changes to the core this offseason (there won't be), I'd still like to see a partial youth movement. Maybe even that's unrealistic given the sports/baseball environment and state of the Cubs organization, but there is no clear path forward with this team as currently constructed.
