Alzolay is OUT for the rest of the year with his lat strain

Damn. We just can't have nice pitching prospects.

When was the last time a pitcher was shut down with 3.5 months left on the season because of a lat strain?

I thought it was a bit odd too.

I don't think they have ruled out pitching in winter ball or the fall league yet, but agree it seemed a little premature.

Not that it makes a huge difference but remember that the minor league season is about a month shorter.

This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

Nicos first game as a Cub - He went 2 for 3 with a double, triple, a walk and an RBI.

Wow, didn't realize they had him going already.  Awesome.

Very cool. It seems like they just announced the signing a few days ago.

Clearly Nico is not a proto-typical modern day prospect as he's missing a HR and multiple Ks in the results from his first professional outing.  How can Theo ever expect to trade him to the Yankees or BoSox without HRs and Ks?

Paul Richan's debut for the Em's today. He went 2 scoreless innings with 5K's.

Nico starting off nicely.

Worst draft of 2018 according to some Twitter experts.

NSBB too.  Related to that, Marquez kid pitched a heck of a game over the weekend.  NSBB commenter said nice outing, but giving up HRs is a big problem for him and doesn't bode well for his chances.  He's given up one HR this year and three all of last.  When told this, armchair scout said that you should be giving up any homeruns in the DSL.  Case.  Closed.

Clearly he should have McLeods job
