More concerned with offense than Jake as we knew Jake would have issues but offense was expected to put up 3-6 runs consistently - Nope

Pretty clear our 3,4 can't be counted on and our 5 doesn't instill a ton of confidence either whenever he gets back.

 

We need a 3, 4 and 5!

Its funny how quickly I (we?) shift from we need to add at the deadline to we need to sell at the deadline. Ultimately even when we were playing well, its obvious that this isnt a World Series team. Not close.

If this team continues to muddle along, we won't be either serious buyers or sellers. How does any GM even gauge the trade market with MLB cracking down on substances, a rash of injuries around the league and a new CBA in the off-season. Not to mention, we don't have much talent to trade away even if Hoyer does want to add. The possibilities are pretty limited.
